Good Morning,
“Brother Saul.” Ananias was the first Christian to call the former persecutor “brother.” Anyone that comes to Christ by saving faith, is received into the family immediately, as Paul was. Hearing himself referred to as "Brother", he must have instantly realized that the Church is a family, and he was included in the family circle. He had brothers and sisters to stand beside him as human examples of the love and power of Jesus. They would pray for him, give to him, hear from him, and rejoice in every mission he conducted for their common Lord. A great number of brothers and sisters were referred to by name in "Brother Paul's" letters. He would enjoy family reunions, meeting with his brothers and sisters to report his missionary adventures. That’s why we have worship services: We gather to honor our Lord and to rejoice in what He is doing in, with, and through all of our lives. The psalmist said, “God sets the lonely in families......” Psalms 68:6a. Everyone needs to belong, to be part of a family and a community. At Dogwood Community Church, we are having a special day Sunday. All have been ask to invite and bring a friend to service, and then to enjoy a combined Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner. Do you have friends that are not attending church? Invite them, or bring them with you Sunday. God bless you and yours, have a great day, and never forget that you are loved!!! Henry
