![]() Don't Forget the Girl by Paul Walerczak There is one word that can describe many outdoorsmen starting in or around October 1st of each year. The word is "obsessed". Webster's Dictionary defines the word obsess in the following ways: to haunt or excessively preoccupy the mind of, to engage in obessive thinking : become obsessed with an idea. If that doesn't sound like a whitetail hunter trying to punch his tag with a mature shooter buck I don't know what does. Since joing the pro-staff for Midwestwhitetail in 2009 and then starting Without Excuse Ministries in February of 2010 I can honestly say I think about whitetail hunting year around. You can find me frequently reading, watching, or studying material to learn how to make the most of my time in the whitetail woods. Since June of this year I have taken hundreds, possibly even one thousand shots, with my bow. I have taken these shots from seated, elevated, standing, and crouching positions. You could say "Paul is obsessed with making good, clean, ethical shots with his bow" and that would be a true statement. There has been time spent preparing two fields in Kentucky for food plots that are an hour and fifteen minutes away from my home. The study of aerial photos and topo maps have helped me learn where to place my tree stand sets and learn the best entry and exit routes to these locations. The list could go on and on, but in short you could say that I have become "obsessed" with chasing mature bucks. At times even hauntd by them! In the midst of this obsession it is vitally important to keep first things first and not overlook or neglect the ones who love you the most...inspite of your obsession! My prayer is this short video will help all of us during the upcoming whitetail season. Blessings on your season, paul

![]() Eager Anticipation by Paul Walerczak We eagerly anticipate many things in life. Currently Will, Anna, and myself are beside ourselves eagerly anticipating the opening day of Indiana's youth whitetail weekend. Will told me yesterday "I have been waiting for this day all year". Truth be told, I have been too! Today we live in the shadow of a Biblical event that every believer should be eagerly anticipating. All too often we are so focused on our daily tasks, goals, dreams, and aspirations that this event is but a distant thought at best. I believe if this Biblical event was not an after thought, but a daily reality in our lives it would radically change how we do life here and now! So what is the event? Well, I am glad you asked! Grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair, and watch this short video to learn more! Blessings on your week! paul ![]() Sore Muscles by Paul Walerczak Have your ever thought of your walk with the Lord as exercising a spiritual muscle? In today's simple devotional we will think about that thought for just a moment. Is it possible to get "sore muscles" in reference to our spiritual walk and growth? I believe it is and it simply comes from not using our "muscles". Blessings on your day and I hope you have a great weekend! ![]() Heaven and Hell by Paul Walerczak The topic of Heaven and Hell is one that has been discussed through the ages and will continue to be discussed into the future. Recently there has been a lot of conversation, discussion, and down right heated debate over a book titled Love Wins written by Rob Bell, pastor of Mars Hill Church, located in Michigan. So why so much heated debate over a book titled Love Wins. After all isn't that what the Bible teaches...God is Love? Central to Rob Bell's teaching in Love Wins is the belief that all people will "eventually" go to heaven, because in the end "God's love wins". According to Bell, hell is not the place of eternal seperation and torment as many have believed the scriptures to teach since Jesus first spoke these words to the early disciples. The big problem with the teachings contained within Love Wins is that Rob Bell's overall teaching of heaven, hell, and what happens to us when we die are simply not Biblical. This type of teaching, which most closely resembles universalism, is a false gospel that ultimately has the potential to lead many people astray on this important topic. Jesus, who speaks of hell more than any other figure in scripture, does give us sound teaching on the topic of heaven and hell. Today we will simply discuss a few of Jesus' thoughts in reference to this all important topic of heaven and hell. |
Pastor PaulSince a young age Pastor Paul has had a love for the outdoors. After he became a Christian in October of 1994 God began to use the great outdoors to demonstrate to Pastor Paul the eternal truths of scripture. In this section he will share some of these thoughts via written or audio devotionals. Archives
