A New Name
by Paul Walerczak

Since we started the RV Life blog a few weeks ago we have had the opportunity to take the RV out a few times on some local camping trips with family and even close friends.  These local trips have given us a chance to let the "old girl" stretch her legs and work out some kinks along the way.  While camping, these times of turning off the cell phone, forgetting about a schedule, and reconnecting as a family are quickly becoming treasured times that I look forward too. There is just something about waking up in the morning and looking out the big front window of the RV and seeing all that God has created.  In those quiet moments I feel so small, yet incredibly connected to my Creator, the one who made the very dirt beneath my boots!

This weekend we enter into a new season for us here at Without Excuse Ministries.  Literally the entire reason why we purchased this motorhome starts in just a couple days.  We are committed to travel throughout God's marvelous playground we call creation as a family.  I feel in the day and time in which we live it is important for families to worship and serve together.  There are so many "things" pulling the family apart today and unfortunately those same type "things" have infiltrated the church and even the church is now becoming a place where families go different directions as soon as they walk through the front door.  As for me and my house we will serve the Lord........TOGETHER!  So this Friday we head out to the Full Gospel Temple in Eaton, OH to facilitate a leadership training event for prospective outdoor ministry leaders. We will also be taking part in a Wild game dinner at the same facility and look forward to just sharing our faith with the outdoorsmen we meet at this event.

This leads me to the real meat and taters part of this devotional!  There was a very important task that was imperative we get completed before we headed out on the road for our first ministry trip in the RV.  We needed to come up with a new name for our home on wheels.  I am not sure I could have pulled out of the driveway to head off into the wild blue yonder unless we gave the old girl a name.  She is like family now, so she had to have a name.  It took several weeks of pretty tough thinking on the subject of a name.  I am pretty sure at one point I had smoke rolling out of my ears, blood shoot eyes, and was uttering things no one could understand as I strained to come up with a name that was fitting for a classic such as this 1997 Coachmen Mirada.  Then poof, in an instant, the name came to me and it stuck.  Ok drum roll please.........the new name for our home away from home is "The Memory Maker".  We call her M and M for short.  Since April we have created some wonderful memories in "The Memory Maker" and we look forward to many more.  We also understand that some of the memories may not always be wonderful or pleasant.  We may have to actually endure some pretty hard memories over time.  One thing is for sure though, whether in good times or bad, Jesus is and always will be the King of kings and the Lord of lords.  I can say this with all confidence because there was a day that God gave me a new name too.  Prior to that special day I had names like lost, alcoholic, addict, depressed, insecure and lonely just to name a few.  Then in October of 1994 I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  On that day I was given a new name.  That name still stays with me today and it is a name that I will always love to be called.  What is this special name you might ask....it is none other than "Child of the one true King!"

God Bless and we look forward to maybe seeing you and your family on the road as we live out the RV Life serving Jesus!

Enjoyed reading, Pleased to know that you still serve our risen Savior. Charles and I have seen people come and go, so it makes my heart swell when I hear that someone else still makes Jesus the most important one in their life. GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY.
