The God of Jacob is Our Refuge! by Paul As you most likely have already noticed you are not watching a video this week of me greeting you. I wish that were possible, but the truth is my voice is all but gone. It wouldn't be pretty!!! I have battled a sore throat and a continual sense of being tired this week even though I have slept more this week than I usually do. The Lord answered my prayers yesterday in the midst of my minor health issues. He allowed me to get through my normal duties at Dogwood Community Church as well as preach last night on the use of Spiritual Gifts at a neighboring church. God is good! Last week I spoke on the topic "Don't Worry About It". Since the release of that devotional there have been several emails that have come across my computer indicating how timely the devotional was in reference to certain situations in the viewer's lives. I thank the Lord for each of you who have written in and your comments have been encouraging and uplifting to me. Thank you and you will continue to be in my prayers! Sickness, trials, and struggles are a part of life, but not always a bad thing. One viewer broke his back in three places, herniated two discs, and has indured three surgeries in three and half years. He endures pain daily and is possibly facing more treatment in the future. This viewer encouraged me this morning with his comments of how God has worked in wonderful ways to strengthen his business, marriage, and relationship with his children through these physical battles. There are very real physical, mental, social, financial, and other troubles we face in life daily. Today I want to leave you with these encouraging words today from the book of Psalms. Psalm 46:1-3 God [is] our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; [Though] its waters roar [and] be troubled, [Though] the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah Psalm 46:10-11 Be still, and know that I [am] God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The LORD of hosts [is] with us; The God of Jacob [is] our refuge. Selah Until next time, May the God of Jacob be your refuge and strength today, and in the days to come! In His Amazing Grace, paul Romans 1:20

Pastor PaulSince a young age Pastor Paul has had a love for the outdoors. After he became a Christian in October of 1994 God began to use the great outdoors to demonstrate to Pastor Paul the eternal truths of scripture. In this section he will share some of these thoughts via written or audio devotionals. Archives
